The Links is the Fancourt estate’s famed golf course. Golf icon Gary Player rated it as his greatest achievement as a course designer. The Links, inspired by the legendary links courses of the British Isles, is regarded as a masterpiece. It plays host to many global golfing legends including John Bland, Justin Rose, Retief Goosen, Branden Grace and Ernie Els.

Montagu
Fancourt’s Montagu Golf Course was designed by Gary Player. It holds the 8th position on South Africa’s Top 100 Courses’ list. Golfers can expect a challenging, yet highly enjoyable golfing experience surrounded by the natural beauty of the Fancourt estate. This tree-lined course covers large tracts of varying terrain across an undulating indigenous landscape. A warm-up area, featuring a full-length range and chipping and bunker practice area, is available to golfers before play.
Outeniqua
Fancourt’s Outeniqua golf course ranked 18th by South Africa’s Top 100 Courses’ experts. Also designed by Gary Player, the course can comfortably accommodate a large field of golfers. A warm-up area, featuring a full-length range and chipping and bunker practice area, is available to golfers before play.
Bramble Hill
Bramble Hill, also designed by Gary Player Design Co. is Fancourt’s shortest offering with 6 holes. It has a furrowed terrain with undulating fairways, pot bunkers and elevated greens. The very short par-3 5th provides a good opportunity to gaze across the course, with the picturesque Outeniqua Mountains providing a breath-taking backdrop. For the closing 6th hole, Bramble Hill mimic’s the parkland persona of Montagu and Outeniquea – not quite as imposing but good enough to ensure a testing finish.
Golf Courses
The Links course at Fancourt opened for play in November 2000, and it offers a one-of-a-kind and extremely difficult South African golfing experience. Golfers may tee off in paradise against the background of the towering Outeniqua Mountains that loom huge over the Garden Route town of George at Fancourt’s three golf courses, which consistently rank among Golf Digest’s top 20 courses in the country. Fancourt’s three golf courses, in addition to its great athletic heritage, were designed by a dynamic team led by Gary Player and the estate’s owner, Dr. Hasso Plattner. The Links has hosted some of the most prestigious tournaments in the world, including the Presidents Cup (2003), the SA Open (2005) and the 2012 Volvo Golf Champions European Tour.

Club House
The Links Club’s private membership provides the course and its facilities with the exclusivity that befits a world-class golfing resort. Members have complete access to an 18-hole championship course created by Gary Player, Phil Jacobs, and Fancourt owner Dr Hasso Plattner. Our distinguished customers can also enjoy putting greens and a practice range, as well as the Links Clubhouse, which features a private members’ locker room, a Roman bath, Jacuzzis, an outdoor pool, steam and sauna rooms, a gymnasium, a billiard room, and a member’s bar. The Links Pro Shop on-site is fully equipped with high-end Links branded clothes and golfing equipment.The club also offers intimate dining and meeting facilities in the Links Lodge for members. Membership is by invitation only.
Golfers also have access to comprehensive practice facilities, a Golf Academy and a fully equipped Pro Shop, completing Fancourt’s five-star golfing experience.
